Fees

Research is billed by the hour. Forensic projects typically require 20-40 hours for research plus a research report in affidavit format but this can vary. Expenses such as photocopy costs, postage, parking fees, and vital certificate fees charged by repositories are also charged to the client. Billable time includes analysis, research, and report preparation.

Authorization of Time

It is difficult to predict the amount of time it will take to solve a research problem or locate specific records. Some projects proceed quickly, whereas some others do not due to lack of available records.

Retainer

A retainer of half the amount authorized is required before research can begin. An invoice for the balance of the research fee and expenses will be sent with the research report and supporting documents.
